Hailing from all the way across the river, I was born and raised in Helen Keller's hometown of Tuscumbia, AL. I began my teaching career in September of 2014 at Hibbett Middle School, teaching 6th grade Social Studies. Throughout my tenure here at Hibbett, I have also been blessed with the opportunity to serve as the Academic Leader for the Social Studies Dept. and as Sponsor for the Hibbett Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. After helping my students explore our country's past for 6 years, I was asked to teach 6th grade Math & Science beginning the 2020/2021 school year.

I took a non-traditional path to becoming a classroom teacher. I have earned 2 undergraduate degrees from the University of North Alabama: BS in Communications - concentration in Entertainment Media Production (2010) and BS in Elementary Education (2014). I also hold a Master of Arts in Education from UNA (2018).

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We got married at Walt Disney World in 2015! She was also an educator, teaching middle school and high school Science in another district. She now is a stay-at-home mom to our beautiful daughter. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with them and our 2 miniature dachshunds or working on a woodworking project.
