Originally from Tennessee, I have enjoyed calling Florence my home for more than twenty years. My husband, Clint, and I have two daughters and a son. We’ve been a proud Falcon family for a long time, and I am so blessed to be able to teach at Forest Hills. I have a Bachelor's degree from Athens State University, Master's from UNA, and am currently pursuing National Board Certification.
This is my sixth year to teach, and four those have been in 1st grade. My favorite thing about teaching first grade (besides the sweet little personalities) is the process of teaching reading. As a life-long lover of books and a champion of reading aloud, I am honored to be a part of my students’ reading journey, and am dedicated to their success. I also love history, geography, and all other aspects of social studies and am proud to be a Master Teacher for the Alabama Department of Archives and History's AHI workshop series.
