Though I was born in Alabama in 1971, I spent many of my childhood years in Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. I finished high school in Phil Campbell, Alabama, in 1989. In 1994, I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. After working in the mental health field for a few years, I realized I was meant to be a teacher. I completed my Elementary Education Certification at the University of North Alabama and later my Masters Degree at the University of West Alabama. I began teaching first grade at Weeden Elementary in 2004. After 17 years in first grade, my role changed. I am now the S.T.E.M. Teacher for grades K-4 at Weeden.
I am married to a very talented musician, Mitch, and have two sons, Ryan and Connor. I also have three grandchildren; Myles, Maya, and Christian.
I am very proud to be a part of Weeden Elementary and Florence City Schools.
