Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, I moved to Alabama in 2001 after marrying my wonderful husband, William. I began teaching in 1998 in Canada, but my husband and I decided it would be best to move to the United States! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in French and a Bachelor of Education degree, with specialty in Primary/Junior Education from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. I taught at a private school in Florence for three years before I was fortunate enough to acquire a position with Florence City Schools. I started as a fifth grade aid at Hibbett Middle School and then became a 5th grade resource teacher there. I spent several years over the T.O.P.S. program at Weeden Elementary School. I came to Harlan Elementary School and taught first grade for a year, then moved to second grade and taught second grade for seven years. Presently, I am a second grade Interventionist at Harlan Elementary School! I feel incredibly blessed to not only have found a wonderful place to work, but also a second family in the faculty and staff of Florence City Schools! It truly is a great place to be!
